Times of change

Writer's picture: Midwife NanniMidwife Nanni

Many things have changed since my last post. As you are all fully aware we moved into a period of time in our lives, where we spend a lot of time at home and suddenly home is the safe place. It is a time of strain, worry and concern for all and we are not excluded from this. We do still attend home births and hope to maintain this essential service as long as possible. The last time I wrote to you, I told you that we are the best kept secret of the HSE. Well, the secret is out and all of a sudden we have seen a surge of interest to the point were we are almost at capacity. This is great news for the service but we did have to change a few things in our practice. I currently check in with every client over the phone before I enter for a visit. Booking interviews are done with video chat to limit direct contact, I follow social distancing guidelines and while our hygiene has always been to standard, I have increased it to the point were I wear a uniform for visits now and a protective face mask for the physical exam to protect others of me. I hope to get through this with as little interruption as possible and wish that all my clients can stay in the safety of their homes to have their babies. Like many midwives I am here for you for questions or concerns.

On the upbeat note I received a new review and while I am not that techy with FB I have managed to add it to my reviews here on my side. So go check it out and do get in touch if you think there is something I can do for you.

Warmest wishes to you all. Yours Nanni

Busy midwife=)

It has been so long since I posted a blog post.  In my case I would say that it is a good thing.  I am simply busy supporting homebirth. ...
