MY SERVICES
Homebirth

I always thought about homebirth when I thought about midwifery and in my training in Germany I was able to attend some births at home, in birth centres and smaller maternity units with birthing pools. It always facinated me, how empowered woman were, once they decided to birth fully themselves. Homebirth is becoming more popular again and the new NICE guidelines published, that midwifey-led care is the safest option for a woman with a low risk, straight forward pregnancy.

I am offering a full midwifery-led service in agreement and under the guidelines with the HSE. My Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the HSE gives me clinical indemnity insurance to care for woman in pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period.

Additionally, I have started booking clients under Private Midwives Ireland (PMI) to offer a wider range of option and choice to woman in Ireland. You can see more about them at www.privatemidwives.com or contact me for more information.

I am looking forward to be your guide in this wonderful and adventurous journey. Get in touch for more details.

Antenatal and Hypnobirthing classes

I offer a range of classes tailored to your needs. You can book a one day antenatal class full of Information and exercises or a two day class that includes Tools and advise on Hypnobirthing techniques.

I will come to you and help you to understand and learn about birth, your body and your baby and hopefully empower you to birth the way, that is right for you.

Get in touch and talk to me about your needs and preferences and I am sure we will find a way that suits you best.

I am really looking forward speaking to you.

Antenatal or Postnatal Care

From 2024 I am also in a position to offer private antenatal and postnatal visits in your home. You don't need to plan or book a homebirth for this. They could replace GP visits or get you support with breastfeeding and recovery after your baby arrived. Just get in touch to learn more.

Acupuncture in pregnancy

In Germany A.T. Roemer developed a course in acupuncture exclusively for midwives. I started this course in 2014 and will fully qualify in 2016. I can use acupuncture to ease and treat a variety of pregancy problems such as Hyperemesis, backpain, Oedema and breech presentation.   I also offer acupuncture as antenatal preparation for birth from 36 weeks gestation. Studies showed it ripens the cervix, can initiate labour, often reduces labour pain and helps the body to prepare for a natural birth. After birth I can help with lactation problems and recovery from birth. As my client for a homebirth you can avail of the service on my visits, if wanted, but I also see woman that are booked for a hospital birth. Get in touch for more information.

Complementary Therapy

In 2017 I trained to teach Hypnobirthing Techniques and will be able to aid you and your Partner in working with these Techniques to empower you in your birthing.

I also offer selected Aroma oils for you and your baby.

In 2018 I attended a course for midwives to use aromatherapy in childbirth which is a great addition to my therapy skills.

Get in touch if you want to find out more!

Inspiration

I was inspired by many great woman along my way to where I am now. I got great inspiration from Ina May Gaskin and her approach to childbirth but even more I love all the wonderful ways of Ingeborg Stadelmann, a german midwife, who offers a great range of oils and remedies for the small and big hick-ups in pregnancy. Her book "A consultation with the midwife" is still like a bible to me and I use many of her products and ideas in my work with woman.
